President Rowe on Commissioner Fisher's re-appointment

The following is a statement from Donn Rowe, President of NYSCOPBA, a 23,000-member union representing the State Security Services Unit including New York State's prison correctional officers, on Commissioner Brian Fischer's re-appointment and A. T. Wall, the Director of Rhode Island's Director of Corrections, subsequent comments:

"With all due respect to Commissioner Fischer's colleague from Rhode Island, we, the Corrections Officers in New York, hold a very different opinion of Mr. Fischer. It is curious that in order to find anyone with positive things to say, Mr. Fischer had to go outside the State of New York and equally curious that Director Wall, an administrator, would state an opinion of 'correction officers'. This is a New York issue and should be left to the people of New York to be the judge."
