| NYSCOPBA Endorses Eliot Spitzer for Governor |
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 5/8/06 Larry Flanagan, Jr., President of the New York State Correctional Officers and Police Benevolent Association, Inc. ("NYSCOPBA"), the State's largest independent law enforcement union has announced the endorsement of Eliot Spitzer in his endeavor to become New York's next Governor. "NYSCOPBA is proud to support Eliot Spitzer in his efforts to become the next Governor of New York," said NYSCOPBA President, Larry Flanagan, Jr. "The character and conviction shown by Mr. Spitzer in his role as Attorney General and his clear and unequivocal commitment to the people of this State makes Eliot Spitzer NYSCOPBA's choice for Governor in 2007." NYSCOPBA represents approximately 22,000 members Statewide in various law enforcement titles within several different State agencies, including State correctional officers, safety and security officers, security hospital treatment assistants and warrant and transfer officers, among many others.
