Daniel Willis Lindsay of Wurtsboro, a corrections officer at Woodbourne Correctional Facility, died unexpectedly in the Town of Deerpark on Sunday, October 30, 2011. He was 53. The son of the late Harold W. Lindsay and Betty Wilkinson Lindsay, he was born June 12, 1958 in Monticello. He is survived by his wife, Lisa Jeana Caldiero Lindsay, at home; two daughters, Jennifer and Danielle Lindsay, both of Wurtsboro; a step-son, Dillon Caldiero of Livingston Manor; three grandchildren: Saniya Janae Patterson, Tavian David Combs and Giavanna Xiomara Morrison; a brother, Peter Lindsay of Wurtsboro, and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to gather on Thursday, November 3 from 5-8 p.m. at the VanInwegen-Kenny, Inc. Funeral Home, 111 Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro. For additional information, please visit www.kennyfuneralhome.com Richard C. Edick, Jr. Richard C. Edick, Jr., age 50, of Rome, passed away August 3, 2011. He was born April 3, 1961, in Constable- ville, NY, a son of Richard C. Edick and Virginia Snyder. Rick graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1979, having played "fullback" for the Black Knights. He then served in the U.S. Navy until 1983, aboard the aircraft carrier Midway, stationed in Yokushka, Japan. He served in the field of photographic intelligence. Rick furthered his education at MVCC in the culinary arts program and worked at various area restaurants as a cook. He later began a freelance painting business in New Hampshire, which he continued in New York. For the past eight years, Rick also worked for the State of New York, most recently as a safety officer at the CNY Psychiatric Center. Rick was passionate about his music. He attended hundreds of concerts and enjoyed singing and playing guitar with his brother and father. He also loved to cook and shared this talent with family and friends in the form of his signature cheesecakes. Rick also spent time pursuing his interest in fishing, camping and mountain biking. Rick is survived by his mother and stepfather, Virginia and Salvatore Pulizzi, of Rome; father and stepmother, Richard and Donna Edick, of Utica; a sister and brother-in-law, Richelle and L. Robert Ciota, of Camillus; a brother and sister-in-law, Nicholas and Carrie Pulizzi, of Camden; stepsister, Donna Lints, of Ilion; and stepbrothers, Sonny Lints, of Phelps, NY, Timothy Lints, of Frankfort, and Donald Wood and wife, Corrina, of New Hartford. Box 221, Delmar, NY 12054. Officer Casimiro Pomales Dies in the Line of Duty Casimiro M. 'Maxi' Pomales KERHONKSON - Casimiro M. 'Maxi' Pomales, 52, of Freidlander Drive, died suddenly on Friday Jan. 28, 2011 of injuries sustained in an automobile accident on the N.Y. State Thruway. He was on duty as a N.Y. State Correction Officer at the time of the accident. Mr. Pomales was born in Philadelphia, Pa. a son of Casimiro and Wanda Wineburg Pomales and a longtime area resident. Maxi was employed by N.Y.S. Department of Corrections at Eastern Correctional Facility for the past 22 years. Maxi was also a U.S. Navy veteran. He loved to travel, loved and was a friend to everyone, and was always there to help anyone in need. He especially loved his family and grandchildren. He is survived by his loving partner of 20 years, Victoria Bangert, his children, Casimiro Pomales, Maximino J. Pomales, Zanneya Pomales, all of Kerhonkson, his stepchildren, Michael Bangert of Wawarsing, Melissa Bangert of Long Island, and Eric Bangert of Warwarsing. Also survived by a sister, Jacquilanda Pomales - Moody of Raleigh, N.C., a half brother, William Stewart of Philadelphia, Pa., 12 grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Richard Carpenter, Clinton C.F. Calling Hours: Tuesday, December 8, 2009, 2pm - 4 pm and 7 pm -9 pm, R.W. Walker Funeral Home, CADYVILLE -- Richard L. Carpenter, 58, of the Duquette Road died Friday, Dec. 4, 2009, at Fox Hospital in Oneonta. He was born in Plattsburgh on March 13, 1951, the son of Emery and Elizabeth (Miner) Carpenter. Mr. Carpenter married the former Linda Lomot on July 5, 1980, at St. Alexander's Church. He was co-owner and operator of Carpenter's Carpet Service with his uncle Clarence Carpenter for several years. He later became a correction officer and retired after 26 years of service from Clinton Correctional Facility in March of 2009. He was a member of St. Alexander's Church in Morrisonville, the Sons of the Legion, Post 1619 in West Plattsburgh and past president of NYSCOPBA Union at Clinton Correctional Facility. Mr. Carpenter enjoyed hunting, fishing, motorcycling, boating and snowmobiling. He loved to spend time with his family and friends, especially his grandson, Landon Richard Arel. Mark was a New York State Correction Officer for 25 years and was looking forward to retirement. He worked in inmate records at Southport Correctional Facility and took great pride in his job, always concerned for his fellow co-workers. He was a loving husband, father, son and brother. Family was always dear to his heart. Mark was a humble, kind and patient man. He touched the hearts of everyone he knew. He enjoyed Gods creation by hiking, boating, bike riding, traveling and fishing. Some of the best stories came from the fishing trips with his best friend and brother, Stu. He was also a devoted Yankee fan. Mark faced life by always putting his best foot forward no matter what the circumstances. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him. A beautiful light was dimmed on August 19, 2009. Thanks for the memories Mark; you will forever be in our hearts.
