 State your case in the first sentence |
Make your case concisely. Most printed letters are shorter than 300 words |
| Use specific examples in your letter. Include relevant personal experiences if possible |
Do not use inflammatory language; instead make a stimulating and compelling argument |
| Challenge and invite the reader to question and research the issue |
Make sure your letter isn’t dry or terse. Make it interesting |
| Avoid clichés, be original |
Your conclusion should be provocative and optimistic |

Please understand that not every letter gets printed. Sending multiple or frequent letters will not increase your chances of getting printed
