Re: Suspension of May 1, 2011, Semiannual Re-ranking of Reassignment Lists by Seniority

Date: April 26, 2011

At the request of the New York State Correctional Officers & Police Benevolent Association (NYSCOPBA) and Council 82, the Department has agreed to temporarily suspend the semiannual re-ranking of reassignment lists by seniority which was scheduled to take place on May 1, 2011, pending the announcement of which correctional facilities will be closed as a result of the 2011-2012 Executive Budget.

Once the closure facilities are identified a special revision date will be established and announced which will allow employees who will be required to transfer out of a facility that is slated for closure an opportunity to submit a voluntary reassignment form to be re-ranked, in contract seniority order.

This message should be provided to the union representatives at your facility, posted in conspicuous staff areas and read at all line-ups over the earliest 72 hour period.
