I need a username and password
NYSCOPBA launched a new website back in April 2016 and we have increased security, therefore you will need to register for your own account the first time you log on.
The generic username and password copba/May98 is no longer active.
You can register at: https://nyscopba.org/member-registration/ – You will then be sent a temporary password via email. That will complete your registration and you can then Reset Password if you’d like.
When I open a PDF document (seniority, promotion lists, etc.), an older version is displayed
When you visit web pages and documents, some files get stored on your computer or other device so they load faster if and when you visit that site or open that document again. In some programs or devices, the browser you are using does not know that the document on the web is newer, so it loads the old document. The only way to force the browser to see the newer file is to delete the temporary internet files. If the browser supports checking for new files every time you visit a site, selecting that option may eliminate the issue.
Can’t open some documents?
To view PDF documents, you will need to install Adobe Reader. If you installed Adobe Reader (or other PDF viewing program) and you still can not see the document, try right clicking on the link and choosing “Save Target as…”. Save the document to your hard drive and open it from there.
When I print an Adobe PDF, the page is cut off or blank
When an Adobe PDF loads the plug-in to display the PDF file within the web page, a toolbar is also loaded at the top or in the body of the PDF document (depending on the program and version you have installed to view PDF documents). To print the document, use the print icon on the Adobe tool bar, not the print icon on the browser.
I click on a link and and nothing happens or the document loads slowly
Many of our documents are quite large and saved in PDF format that require Adobe Reader reader to view. These documents take time to load and there is little indication that the document is loading. If you have the status bar enabled, it may indicate that the document is being downloaded or is loading.
I have an address change
Active NYSCOPBA Members – Your address on file with NYSCOPBA is the address on file with your Payroll department and the same address that’s on your paycheck. Change your address with your Payroll department and we will get the new address automatically in a couple of weeks. Please note, most members submit address changes to their Personnel department and the new address is usually passed on to the Payroll department. If you submitted an address change to the agency and NYSCOPBA still has your old address, check with your Payroll department to be sure they received the change. When the new address is reflected on your paycheck, we will also have the new address.
Retiree Chapter Members – Use our Update Contact Info form to change your address on file or contact our Retiree Department.
If you have other questions about the web site, please contact Member Services.
