Officer escorted three confined inmates to clinic for keeplock meds. while one inmate became loud and aggressive at the medication window. Officer was trying to calm the inmate down when the other two inmates started to surround the officer. Officer gave them direct orders to back up and go to the yellow line. Officer called for a response. One Officer entered the clinic area and observed the commotion and gave the inmates a direct order to back up from the officer, which they refused. At that point the inmates dropped the cups of water they had and balled their fists up and started striking the Officers in the face. As responding Officers arrived to the area they observed the inmates striking the Officers violently and they used force to gain control of the situation. As one inmate was being admitted to SHU he was resisting and refused to follow staff direction. During the strip frisk procedure a 6-1/2 inch long plexi-glass shank was recovered from the inmate.
