Green Haven CF

During an escort of inmate from the facility clinic to his housing unit after a post-fight medical examination, the inmate reached to the floor in the housing unit stairwell and retrieved a wood shank with cloth wrapped around the handle.  The inmate then ran into the Day Room area while being pursued by the Officers.  The inmate suddenly turned on the Officers and began swinging the weapon at them.  Several orders were given to the inmate to drop the weapon, none of which were complied.  Three separate Officers applied OC Pepper spray to no avail.  Batons were then used in an attempt to disarm the inmate.  The inmate was finally subdued and mechanical wrist restraints were applied. The inmate was then escorted to the Special Housing Unit without further incident.
