Inmate was leaving his work assignment as a mess hall worker into the rotunda. Inmate passed through the walk through metal detector which alerted. Officer started to perform a pat frisk on inmate when he suddenly turned off the wall and struck the Officer in the left side of the face with a right closed fist. A level 2 was called by Officers in the area. Officers used body holds to force inmate to the floor and attempted to gain control of the struggling inmate.
