Officer was making rounds of A-1 Gallery and upon arrival to A-1 cell, inmate lured the Officer closer to his bars by telling her that he did not want the other inmates to hear. He then reached out from his cell and grabbed Officers right arm, pulling the Officer into the cell bars. The Officer struck her head and arm on the cell bars. She managed to break free from the inmates grasp and then fell to the floor, striking her arm on a table that was behind her. Another Officer observed the incident and called for a response. Officer involved observed inmate had a broken broom handle in his other hand. Sgt. arrived with response. Inmate now possessed both the broken broom handle and a weighted cloth weapon. Orders to drop the weapons were issued and the inmate complied. Shoestrings were observed tied to the bars, interfering with the opening of the cell, strings cut by the Officer. Mechanical restraints were applied and inmate was removed from his cell without further incident.
