Lakeview Correctional Facility participated in and donated around $1500 to the LETR, the largest public awareness vessel and grass-roots fundraiser for Special Olympics. They ran in memory of Scott Kowalski, who was an officer at Lakeview who passed away in October of 2017. Special Olympics designated and named this portion of the run after brother Kowalski.

Lakeview NYSCOPBA members and local athletes were honored to be Guardians of the flame, and to carry the Flame of Hope throughout the local communities all the way to the opening ceremonies of local competitions.
