One Officer Sustains Broken Orbital Bone

Comstock, NY – An officer sustained a broken orbital bone at Washington Correctional Facility after an inmate struck him several times in the eye and face yesterday.

The attack, which also injured two other officers, occurred in the facilities school building. The officer was entering the building as the inmate was exiting. The inmate passed the officer and intentionally struck him with his shoulder. The officer ordered the inmate to subject to a pat frisk. The inmate became belligerent and when the officer approached him, he spun off the wall and punched the officer in the eye and face several times.   Full Press Release
