Money Raised Through North Region Golf Tournament
The 10th Annual Northern Region Golf Tournament raised $13,000 for the Ronald McDonald House located in Albany in a charity golf tournament held at Cronin’s Golf Course in Warrensburg at the end of May. The two day golf tournament was held on May 30 and 31st with 144 players participating in an 18 hole scramble. The money was raised through corporate sponsors, player fees, raffles and contests on the golf course during the two days of play.
Over the 10 years the Northern Region Golf Tournament has been held, over $125,000 has been donated to five local and national charities. Past recipients have been the Double H Ranch, Shriners Hospital, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis.
“On behalf of the 650 families our Ronald McDonald House of Albany will serve in 2017, I would like to thank the NYSCOPBA family for their incredible generosity and hospitality at this year’s Golf Tourney. The money raised will directly benefit our families by keeping them together as their child battles a life threatening situation. You help us provide a home away from home when they need it the most. We salute your hard work and dedication to keeping all New Yorkers safe and for your incredible dedication to the communities you serve,” stated Jeff Yule, Executive Director of Ronald McDonald House.
“I would like to thank all the participants and sponsors who helped raise the money this year for such a worthwhile charity. The Ronald McDonald House, like the four charities before it, provides critical service for the children (and their families) hospitalized in the Capital Region. Ronald McDonald House assists families from all over New York State who come to Albany to get the critical medical care their children need at Albany Medical Center. Many of the families stay long term while their child receives treatment for life threatening illnesses. The mission of the Northern Region Golf Tournament will continue to support local and national charities which provide care and support to those children and their families who need it most,” said Chris Hansen, NYSOCPBA Northern Region Vice President and golf tournament organizer.
