Officer Transported to Local Hospital for Injuries

Collins , NY – A sergeant and an officer were injured at Collins Correctional Facility in two separate inmate attacks at the end of July, continuing the disturbing violence at the medium security correctional facility.

The first assault occurred on Friday, July 21. The sergeant was in one of the facility housing units when he observed an inmate mopping up vomit on the bathroom floor. The inmate took the mop bucket and emptied it in the bathroom sink. FULL PRESS RELEASE
