Victim Cut Across Face, Receives 30 Stitches to Close Wound
Auburn, NY – A 14 year veteran correction officer was viciously attacked and cut by an inmate at the maximum security facility on Sunday, causing the facility to be locked down after the assault.
The inmate, who committed the attack and is serving a 25 year to life sentence, also attacked two officers who tried to subdue him after the initial assault.
On Sunday, August 8, the officer, whose name is not being released, was letting inmates out of their cells for their evening meal. The inmate approached the officer from behind and cut him with an unknown cutting weapon from the corner of the left side of the mouth to his ear. FULL PRESS RELEASE
