Inmate Uses Make-Shift Weapon With Parts from Electronic Tablet

Romulus, NY – Two officers sustained puncture wounds and a third officer sustained a hand injury after an inmate armed with a make-shift shank attacked them inside his cell when he refused staff orders to exit the cell at the maximum security correctional facility last week.

On Tuesday, January 2nd, the 26 year old inmate was given orders by staff to exit his cell. He refused all orders multiple times. A cell extraction team consisting of five officers responded to the cell. Several more orders were given to the inmate to exit the cell and he continued to be defiant and refuse.  FULL PRESS RELEASE
