The inmate stated that he needed to use the bathroom immediately. The Officer unlocked the holding area door, let the inmate out and then locked the door. As the Officer began to escort the inmate to the bathroom, the inmate suddenly turned and struck the Officer in the face with a closed fist. A nearby Officer came to the aid and they both took the inmate to the floor using body holds. Mechanical restraints were applied and the inmate was escorted to SHU.
