1 AN ACT to amend chapter 677 of the laws of 1977 amending the civil
2 service law, the judiciary law and the general municipal law, relating
3 to rights of a public employee organization, in relation to extending
4 the provisions thereof for two additional years

9 The People of the State of
10 bly, do enact as follows:

12 Section 1. Section 7 of chapter 677 of the laws of 1977 amending the
13 civil service law, the judiciary law and the general municipal law,
14 relating to rights of a public employee organization, as amended by
15 chapter 36 of the laws of 2001, is amended to read as follows:
16 § 7. This act shall take effect on the thirtieth day after it shall
17 have become a law and shall apply to each pay period of a public employ-
18 er commencing on or after such day except that the provisions of
19 sections one through six of this act and the amendments to the
20 provisions of law effected therein or in any other chapter of the laws
21 of 1977 or 1978 amending those same provisions as herein amended or
22 added shall expire on the first day of the month in the [twenty-sixth]
23 twenty eighth year next succeeding the date on which the provisions of this
24 act shall have become effective and the provisions of any agreement
25 between a public employer and employee organization only to the extent
26 that they were agreed to pursuant to the authorization contained in this
27 act or any other chapter of the laws of 1977 or 1978 amending the same
28 provisions of law as herein amended or added shall be null and void and
29 the provisions of law as they existed immediately prior to the effective
30 date hereof shall be controlling.
31 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
