We strive to bring you the best web site possible and you can help. If you find inaccurate information, something that doesn't work or want something added to the site, please contact Membership Services at nyscopba@nyscopba.org.
NYSCOPBA requires a username and password for Members Only areas. If you are a NYSCOPBA Member, go to our Update Your Contact Info form, fill out the required information and click submit. After we validate your membership, you will receive a Welcome email with the web site username and password. When you submit for a password, you should receive a confirmation email immediately. The confirmation email will not contain the password, it will contain the information you submitted so you can verify what you entered. Each email request is validated manually and it can take up to 24 hours to receive the welcome email with the web password. If you do not receive the confirmation email immediately, check that you entered your email correctly and check your junk email folder. When you visit web pages and documents, some files get stored on your computer or other device so they load faster if and when you visit that site or open that document again. In some programs or devices, the browser you are using does not know that the document on the web is newer, so it loads the old document. The only way to force the browser to see the newer file is to delete the temporary internet files. If the browser supports checking for new files every time you visit a site, selecting that option may eliminate the issue.
Try the Index. You can also enter any search terms in the Search box in the upper right. Click SEARCH to find any matching items on our web site.
To view PDF documents, you will need to install Adobe Reader. If you installed Adobe Reader (or other PDF viewing program) and you still can not see the document, try right clicking on the link and choosing "Save Target as...". Save the document to your hard drive and open it from there.
When an Adobe PDF loads the plug-in to display the PDF file within the web page, a toolbar is also loaded at the top or in the body of the PDF document (depending on the program and version you have installed to view PDF documents). To print the document, use the print icon on the Adobe tool bar, not the print icon on the browser.
Many of our documents are quite large and saved in PDF format that require Adobe Reader reader to view. These documents take time to load and there is little indication that the document is loading. If you have the status bar enabled, it may indicate that the document is being downloaded or is loading.
Active NYSCOPBA Members- Your address on file with NYSCOPBA is the address on file with your Payroll department and the same address that's on your paycheck. Change your address with your Payroll department and we will get the new address automatically in a couple of weeks. Please note, most members submit address changes to thier Personnel department and the new address is usually passed on to the Payroll department. If you submitted an address change to the agency and NYSCOPBA still has your old address, check with your Payroll department to be sure they received the change. When the new address is reflected on your paycheck, we will also have the new address. Retiree Chapter Members- Use our Update Contact Info form to change your address on file or contact our Retiree Department. NYSCOPBA will need to contact you each year to bill annual Retiree Chapter dues. If you miss paying your dues, you can reinstate your membership but you will not be eligible for the free and optional insurance benefits. If you have other questions about the web site, please contact Member Services. | |||||||||||||||||
