NYSCOPBA represents over 23,000 New York State employees in the Security Services Unit. Our Union was formed in 1998 and since that time has provided superior representation to the membership under the independent and democratic model. Don't have a username and password? If you are a NYSCOPBA member and you want to be able to access the secure areas of the web site, please email your name, facility and seniority date to nyscopba@nyscopba.org or contact Member Services. Please include the required information so we can validate your membership quickly.
I signed up, why doesn't my username and password allow access to Members areas on the web site? NYSCOPBA requires a username and password for Members Only areas as follows: 1) To access Members only areas of the web site and 2) Open confidential documents. Members wanting access to these areas, please email Member Services at nyscopba@nyscopba.org with your name, facility and seniority date. 3) Add or configure email updates- If you would like to receive email updates from NYSCOPBA, Inc., click the "Sign up Today!" button on the left. Follow the prompts to begin receiving email updates. During the signup process, you will select a username and password. This username and password allows you to administer options for your email updates only and does not allow access to Members Only areas of the web site.
I can't find what I'm looking for! Try the Index link on the top blue bar. You can also enter any search terms in the Search box in the upper right. Click SEARCH to find any matching items on our web site.
Can't see the left menu? Try lowering your internet security settings. Open Internet Explorer, click Tools, Internet Options, Security Tab, Custom. Set Security to Medium. The menu is a java script application so you must have java enabled in your browser

Can't open some documents? Our site uses many PDF documents. To view these documents, you will need to install Adobe Reader. Click the link below and follow the instructions.

When I print an Adobe PDF, the page is cut off or blank. When an Adobe PDF loads the plug-in to display the PDF file within the web page, a toolbar is also loaded at the top of the PDF document. To print the document, use the print icon on the Adobe tool bar, not the print icon on the browser.
What is     ? The lock icon  indicates that a document is located in a secure area. These documents require a username and password. Please note that some documents (Executive Assembly & Board minutes) that are in a secure area are also encrypted with a second password. These documents are in Adobe format and will display a dialogue box asking for just a password. If you need a username or either password, please contact Membership Services. The  icon indicates a movie file and  indicares a sound file. Links with  are Adobe files that require Adobe Reader to view.
I click on a link and and nothing happens or the document takes a long time to load. Many of our documents are quite large and saved in PDF format that require Adobe reader to view. These documents take time to load and there is little indication that the document is loading. If you have the status bar enabled, it may indicate that the document is being downloaded or is loading.
I have an address change- Active members address is the address on file with your Payroll department. Change your address with payroll and we will get the new address automatically in a couple of weeks. Please note, most members submit address changes to thier Personnel department and the new address is usually passed on to the Payroll department. If you submitted an address change and the union still carries the old address, check with your Payroll department. Retiree members please contact the Retirement department with your address changes. NYSCOPBA will need to contact you each year to bill annual Retiree Chapter dues. If you miss paying your dues, you can reinstate your membership but you will not be eligible for the free and optional insurance benefits. Questions? Contact Member Services.

If you have other questions about the web site, please contact Member Services or email webmaster@nyscopba.org.
