Transfers and Work Force Reductions

As everyone is aware, the State's fiscal crisis is impacting our Members in many ways including consolidations, facility closures and post closings. The effect on our members is forced transfers, shift changes and possible job loss. These serious consequences make it all the more important that our Members become informed on what is happening and what choices they have at each step in the process.

NYSCOPBA is dedicated to providing our Members with as much information about all the issues as possible. We have a full time Staffing Department that has attended all of the "Closure/Transfer/RIF" meetings held around the State, we assured all effected Members recieved the proper information and documents and we speak with all Members who reach out to us every day. We continue to negotiate with the State most every day to reduce the impact on our Members.

It is important to note that the information presented here is only general guidelines. Each member is effected differently in this process depending on personal circumstances. Do not make "life" decisions based on this information alone. If you have questions, please contact:

Mike Marro, Staffing Specialist at mmarro@nyscopba or 888.484.7279 x253.
